Welcome To Our Town!

Star is one of five municipalities located in Montgomery County and boasts of having the exact geographic center of North Carolina. This is evidenced in the fact that the Army Corps of Engineers has measured (via satellite) and located the exact geographic center of our state, which is now officially marked. Being located in the center makes us easily accessible from any area of our beautiful state and beyond.

Star Pride Sidewalk Clean-up Day

Saturday, April 20th

Meet at the Community Kitchen at 8:30 for coffee and Sweet breads. 

Each team will clear a section of the sidewalk on one side of one downtown block. Please bring shovels, trowels, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, and other tools to edge, and remove weeds and debris from our sidewalks. Our goal is to make out town safer and more beautiful, especially for walkers and runners. We especially welcome professional landscapers who might be willing to serve as team leaders!
