16th Annual Star Heritage Day Festival

Events Schedule

1.    Lancer’s Furniture Sale. 8-2pm. @ 135 Lancer St.  ph. 428-2181

2.    Ryan Johnson (the old Pine Hosiery Mill) will open his doors for visitors, showing what and how his company is manufacturing machinery parts and will be serving refreshments.

3.    Dedication of the Little Train and the Monument for railroad workers, 11:30 a.m. at the Little Train Display, Star Town Hall.

4.    Reunion, a time for old classmates and former residents of Star to come back home, will be from 11-1pm, with a special welcome ceremony at 12 noon at the Star Town Hall.  Hotdogs, chips, drinks for sale, with monies going to the Star Heritage Association. 5.    Gigantic Yard Sale.  Star Elementary School. Money goes to the Relay for Life. 8-until @ 302 S Main St.  ph. 428-4333

6.    Fossil Dig for kids. 9-12. Star Library @ 222 S Main St. Ph. 428-2338 for more info.

7.    The Annual Cruise-In at BJ and Sons. 9-2 @ 114 N Main St. ph. 428-2678. Bob and Brian Jenkins will feature cars from the past.

8.    Briarpatch will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

9.    Minute to Win, a chance to win great prizes, will be hosted by Hugh Martin and sponsored by Bill Hudson, will be located across from the Community Kitchen, from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon.

10. Lemonade and homemade cookies will be served at the Star Beer and Wine Supplies Store. 10-2 @ 202 S Main St, with wine making demonstrations.

11.  Open house of the Star Bed and Breakfast Inn.  Light Refreshments. 9-2 @ 118 N Main St. ph. 428-2565

12. Star Museum. 9:00-11 & 1-2 @ 1661 US 220 Alt. North.

13.  3rd Annual Star Trek Charity Bike Ride: 18, 20, 37, and 53 mile treks. Registration fee of $30.00.  Registration includes a t-shirt, glass medallion, and snack. Ride starts @ 9am @ STARworks- 100 Russell Drive.

14.  3rd  Annual Star Trek Charity 5k Race. Registration fee of $30.00. Registration includes a t-shirt, glass medallion, and snack. Race starts at 7:30 a.m. in front of the STARworks building, 100 Russell Drive.

15. ServPRO will open their doors from 10-2 to show you what they do.

16. StarWORKS will be open from 10-2, with Glass Blowing Demonstrations and Glass

17. The Z.T. Wright House, built in 1889, and owned by John Garrett Maynard, located on Dover Street (off Owen Street), will be open for a walk through tour of history.

18. RHCC-Montgomery County Health Center, the new medical clinic, located on the corner of South Main and Cotton Creek Road, will be open for FREE health screenings.
