Want a new hobby? Want to
learn to crochet? Now you can! Star Montgomery Community Center is
holding a beginners crochet class on Mondays from 12-1. Each class
only cost $1! We provide hooks for use but you must bring your own
yarn. No reservations necessary. Come join us and learn a new talent.
Travel back to the 1800s! On April 2nd,
the Montgomery County Council On Aging will be having our 1st
Annual Spring Ether Candy Hunt and Social. This event will take place
at Ether Methodist Church. There will be a brief over view of the
history of Ether in general and Ether Methodist Church specifically.
There will be finger sandwiches and beverages for the social. Period
costumes are encouraged. The candy hunt will kick off at 11am. To make

The Montgomery County
Council on Aging, along with the Alzheimer’s Association - Western
Carolina Chapter, is hosting a “Lunch and Learn” class at our Star
Montgomery Community Center. This class will be taught by the This
class will deal with the basics of memory loss in relationship with
Alzheimer’s and Dementia diseases. It will provide information on
symptoms, causes, stages, treatments, and other invaluable
information. Lunch will be provided for participants. The class is set
to happen on Tuesday, March 17th, from 12:00 - 1:30 pm. The
workshop is at no charge but reservation is requested by no later than

The Montgomery County Council on Aging is
hosting it’s first annual Spring Fling! This party will be held at the
Montgomery County Agriculture Center on March 20th.
The Spring Fling will last from 12:30 to 4. Come out to have a
good time with friends and shake off the winter season. We will
provide the delicious meal. There will be toe tapping music from the
band Midnight Run, so come prepared for dancing and singing along.
There is no charge for attendance but donations are accepted. To make
